The county seat, the Town of Winnsboro, is located approximately 28 miles from the state capital of Columbia.
Fairfield County is bisected by 25 miles of Interstate 77, the link between South Carolina’s state capital of Columbia and the Southeast’s financial capital of Charlotte, NC. The county is also within a 90-minute drive of all the other major interstate highways in the state.
