Reflecting on an Incredible 2024 for Fairfield County

As we begin 2025, we’re proud to reflect on a year of resilience and progress. Despite challenges like limited infrastructure, Fairfield County achieved remarkable milestones:
-$24.2 million in capital investment
-96 new jobs created

In addition to attracting significant investment, we’ve been hard at work enhancing our infrastructure and workforce development. Here are some key highlights from the year:

Infrastructure & Development

  • Richtex Road Property: Secured to house a new Wastewater Treatment Facility.
  • East Peach Road Property: Acquired for a future industrial park in Fairfield Electric Cooperative territory, boosting our competitiveness in energy pricing.
    • This site will also feature a new wastewater pump station to address short-term capacity needs.
  • Funding Secured: Earned a $500,000 Site Readiness Grant from SC Commerce and an additional $200,000 from Fairfield Electric Cooperative to support East Peach Road’s development.

Community Awareness & Marketing

  • Garnered recognition through features in Business in Focus Magazine and the Post and Courier.
  • Utilized Locate SC grant to create drone videos and marketing materials for Fairfield Commerce Center and the Averyt Tract.

 Industrial Park Enhancements

  • Completed construction of the Speculative Building on Parcel 9 and mass grading on Parcel 7 in Fairfield Commerce Center.
  • Improved Fairfield Commerce Center’s appearance by repairing streetlights, irrigation systems, and downed trees.
  • Began addressing bridge repairs in the Fairfield Commerce Center.

Environmental & Safety Initiatives

  • Repaired two dams on the Averyt Tract identified as an imminent threat.
  • Evaluated the I-77 Megasite and Averyt Tract through Palmetto Sites, ensuring readiness for future projects.

Strengthening Partnerships & Workforce

  • Strengthened ties with regional alliances, expanding marketing efforts for our county.
  • Enhanced collaboration between existing industries and workforce development partners to tackle emerging challenges.
  • Updated industry lists and increased access to partner resources for our local businesses.

Master Plans & Future Readiness

  • Updated industrial park master plans to reflect actual utility lines, ensuring accuracy for future development.

As we look ahead to 2025, we’re excited to build on this momentum and continue growing Fairfield County into a premier destination to Live, Play, and Grow.

Thank you to everyone who supported our efforts this year—we’re just getting started!
