Reflecting on an Incredible 2024 for Fairfield County

As we begin 2025, we’re proud to reflect on a year of resilience and progress. Despite challenges like limited infrastructure, Fairfield County achieved remarkable milestones:
-$24.2 million in capital investment
-96 new jobs created
In addition to attracting significant investment, we’ve been hard at work enhancing our infrastructure and workforce development. Here are some key highlights from the year:
Infrastructure & Development
- Richtex Road Property: Secured to house a new Wastewater Treatment Facility.
- East Peach Road Property: Acquired for a future industrial park in Fairfield Electric Cooperative territory, boosting our competitiveness in energy pricing.
- This site will also feature a new wastewater pump station to address short-term capacity needs.
- Funding Secured: Earned a $500,000 Site Readiness Grant from SC Commerce and an additional $200,000 from Fairfield Electric Cooperative to support East Peach Road’s development.
Community Awareness & Marketing
- Garnered recognition through features in Business in Focus Magazine and the Post and Courier.
- Utilized Locate SC grant to create drone videos and marketing materials for Fairfield Commerce Center and the Averyt Tract.
Industrial Park Enhancements
- Completed construction of the Speculative Building on Parcel 9 and mass grading on Parcel 7 in Fairfield Commerce Center.
- Improved Fairfield Commerce Center’s appearance by repairing streetlights, irrigation systems, and downed trees.
- Began addressing bridge repairs in the Fairfield Commerce Center.
Environmental & Safety Initiatives
- Repaired two dams on the Averyt Tract identified as an imminent threat.
- Evaluated the I-77 Megasite and Averyt Tract through Palmetto Sites, ensuring readiness for future projects.
Strengthening Partnerships & Workforce
- Strengthened ties with regional alliances, expanding marketing efforts for our county.
- Enhanced collaboration between existing industries and workforce development partners to tackle emerging challenges.
- Updated industry lists and increased access to partner resources for our local businesses.
Master Plans & Future Readiness
- Updated industrial park master plans to reflect actual utility lines, ensuring accuracy for future development.
